Marco Bucci and Federico Rampini discuss September 11 experiences at Camogli festival

Bucci, who was working for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York, at the time, described the immediate realization of the attack and the profound emotional impact on his American colleagues. He noted how the event fundamentally altered global systems, including travel, security, logistics, and communication. He also drew a parallel between the collective resilience shown by citizens and institutions following the collapse of the Morandi Bridge in Genoa and the global shifts caused by 9/11.

Rampini, who was in California during the attacks, spoke about the initial communication blackout and the subsequent sense of national unity in the United States.
