Marco Guitto, local worker and union representative, passes away

Marco Guitto, a 56-year-old resident of Somana, has passed away in Mandello del Lario. Guitto was a worker at Gilardoni Raggi X, where he was active in labor representation, having joined the UILM union in 2024.

He was a well-known figure in the local community, particularly through his passion for country dancing with the group ‘La Gang degli Orsi’. He is survived by his wife, Chiara Poletti—the president of the local Avis section—and their two children, Giulia and Mattia.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Soccorso degli Alpini of Mandello del Lario. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, October 12, at the parish church of Sant’Abbondio in Somana.
