Marco Guzzi discusses death at Calabrie FES in Reggio Calabria

The Calabrie FES Festival held a philosophical session titled ‘Death and Revolution’ at the Auditorium Lucianum in Reggio Calabria. The event featured philosopher and poet Marco Guzzi, founder of Darsi Pace, who discussed death as a fundamental aspect of the human experience.

Guzzi argued that confronting mortality is not optional and that viewing death as a threshold or a transition rather than a mere end is essential. He warned that removing the concept of death from public consciousness risks creating a ‘tendentially inhuman society.’

Gianni Votano, spokesperson for Osservatorio Da Sud and festival coordinator, stated the theme was chosen to break the taboo surrounding death. Votano noted the festival, which covers philosophy, economics, and history, has been well-received by the public and expressed interest in building partnerships for future editions.
