Marco Liorni's L’Eredità Summer loses ground to Ruota della Fortuna

Italy's public broadcaster Rai launched a summer edition of its quiz show L’Eredità, titled L’Eredità Summer, with veteran presenter Marco Liorni at the helm. Critics note that the program’s longer runtime and added summer branding do not compensate for weaker content when compared with the long‑running Ruota della Fortuna hosted by Gerry Scotti.

The debut episode on 20 July drew an 18.1 % share, but viewership slipped to 17 % and then 15.2 % in subsequent broadcasts, a decline attributed to the competition from Ruota della Fortuna. Despite the modest ratings, the show will continue its summer run through September.

In a recent episode, contestant Bruno reached the final Ghigliottina round, where he could have won up to €180,000. He mis‑answered the final clue and settled for €11,250. The segment highlighted the programme’s attempt to maintain tension, but overall audience response remains lukewarm.
