Swiss alpine skier Marco Odermatt has canceled his planned training trip to Chile due to a muscle injury. The Swiss Ski federation announced on August 29, 2026, that the athlete will remain in Europe to focus on therapy and rehabilitation.

During an athletic training session last week, Odermatt experienced pain that clinical examinations identified as a “slight muscle lesion.” While the federation described the injury as minor, the decision to undergo formal rehabilitation and skip the crucial South American training stage has led to speculation regarding the actual severity of the condition.
