Marco Pfiffner announces retirement from professional skiing

Pfiffner's retirement marks a potential historic shift for the nation. Liechtenstein has maintained a presence in the Alpine Ski World Cup since its inception in 1967, producing notable athletes such as Hanni Wenzel and Andreas Wenzel. With Pfiffner's exit, there will be no male representatives for the country at the World Cup level in the coming season.

The nation's continuous presence in the circuit may depend on female athlete Charlotte Lingg. However, Lingg has not competed in a race for eighteen months due to injury, and her return to competition remains uncertain.
