Marco Rizzo leaves Democrazia Sovrana Popolare and launches Tuscan Constituent Committee
Marco Rizzo, former europarliamentarian and co‑founder of the sovereign‑populist party Democrazia Sovrana Popolare, announced his departure after a dispute over a possible alliance with former general Roberto Vannacci. Rizzo said he will build a new political project separate from the party led by Francesco Toscano.
In Tuscany, supporters of Rizzo formed a Constituent Committee to back his new initiative. The committee, comprising most regional leaders and members of Democrazia Sovrana Popolare, will hold its first public meeting on 3 August 2026 at the La Versiliana Festival in Marina di Pietrasanta. Its aim is to promote a platform centred on national sovereignty, immigration control, security, and protection of Italian labour and production.
