Marco Rossi defends Szoboszlai and addresses coaching speculation

Hungarian national team coach Marco Rossi has addressed recent criticisms regarding team performance and player fitness. Rossi defended Dominik Szoboszlai, clarifying that the Liverpool player was not injured during recent matches but was experiencing normal fatigue following a dense schedule of four Nations League matches in 14 days.

Rossi expressed concerns regarding the new UEFA match scheduling, noting that the condensed period created a workload potentially higher than that seen in club football. He also addressed speculation regarding his own position, revealing that MLSZ President Sándor Csányi personally visited him to reaffirm his support following a period of inconsistent results.

Despite public pressure following a recent home loss to Ireland, Rossi highlighted that the team has lost only three of its last fifteen matches. He emphasized the importance of Szoboszlai’s work ethic and tactical intelligence for the squad's progress in the Nations League.
