Marco Rubio to host G20 foreign ministers in Atlanta

G20 foreign ministers meeting Marco Rubio Atlanta economic security geopolitical crises

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will host G20 foreign ministers in Atlanta on October 30–31. The meeting aims to address geopolitical crises that contribute to global economic shocks, specifically focusing on threats to freedom of navigation, energy and food security, and supply chain stability.

The ministerial gathering serves as a precursor to the G20 Leaders' Summit, which President Donald Trump is scheduled to host in Miami this December. During the Atlanta meeting, Quad foreign ministers from India, the US, Japan, and Australia are expected to meet on the sidelines.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is expected to attend the meeting, according to Secretary Rubio. Other anticipated attendees include Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
