Marco Rubio warns of sanctions against nations aiding Iran

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has issued a warning to international partners, stating that any country assisting Iran in bypassing sanctions or creating mechanisms to generate revenue will face U.S. sanctions themselves. Rubio emphasized that the primary goal is to restrict Iran's access to funds.

Regarding maritime security, Rubio asserted that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open and will not fall under Iranian control. He stated that the United States will continue to target any imminent threats to U.S. forces and global shipping in the region.

Rubio also addressed the geopolitical relationship with Russia, noting a lack of alignment regarding Iran. He observed that Russia and Vladimir Putin are currently preoccupied with the war in Ukraine and the resulting economic pressures caused by sanctions and the conflict.
