Catanzaro hires Giorgio Gorgone as coach after Marco Turati switches to Spezia
Mid‑June, Serie C side Catanzaro announced a two‑year deal with Marco Turati, who had obtained a special licence waiver to attend the Coverciano course. In the final hours before the new season, Turati reversed the agreement and accepted an offer from Spezia, leaving Catanzaro without a head coach.
Club director Ciro Polito immediately resumed the search and identified former Pescara manager Giorgio Gorgone as the leading candidate. Gorgone, a former Lucchese coach who secured multiple promotions and avoided relegation with Pescara, is now slated to take charge of the giallorossi squad. The club has begun reconstructing its technical staff and transfer plans ahead of the upcoming campaign.
