Marconi Perillo proposes clearing Goiás health queues in 120 days

Marconi Perillo, a candidate for the Governor of Goiás, has proposed a plan to eliminate waiting lists for surgeries and medical exams within the first 120 days of his mandate. Addressing an estimated backlog of 100,000 people, Perillo intends to implement large-scale service drives and reform the patient regulation system.

Key components of the proposal include hiring private and philanthropic hospitals to increase capacity and operating public health units during nighttime hours. To facilitate these partnerships, Perillo plans to create the ‘Tabela SES Goiás,’ a state-level remuneration mechanism designed to supplement payments made by the Unified Health System (SUS), allowing the state government to cover the cost difference for private services.

Additionally, the candidate emphasized the regionalization of healthcare to reduce travel distances for patients requiring oncology care or hemodialysis. He also pledged to increase financial support for philanthropic institutions, such as the Santas Casas de Misericórdia and Hospital Araújo Jorge, to fund equipment purchases and service expansion.
