Marconi Perillo proposes highway duplication in Goiás

During a televised debate on TV Atual Record News, Goiás gubernatorial candidate Marconi Perillo (PSDB) proposed duplicating 400 kilometers of highways and paving an additional 3,000 kilometers of roads. Perillo stated these infrastructure improvements would be achieved through partnerships without the creation of new taxes, aiming to modernize the state network to facilitate service access and agricultural production.

Specific segments identified for duplication include the routes connecting the capital to Santo Antônio de Goiás, Bela Vista to Catalão, and Trindade to São Luís de Montes Belos.

Perillo also criticized the current administration, alleging that the “agro tax” has collected nearly R$ 4 billion over four years without resulting in completed works. He claimed the tax served as a “smoke screen” to hide public works overpricing, alleging that certain projects cost between six and eight million reais per kilometer instead of the expected one million. The debate included PT candidate Luís Cesar Bueno, while candidates Wilder Morais (PL) and Daniel Vilela (MDB) were absent.
