Marconi Perillo proposes tax exemptions for Goiás election

Marconi Perillo, the PSDB candidate for the Governor of Goiás, has proposed several tax reforms aimed at both economic relief and environmental incentives. If elected, Perillo intends to exempt electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles from the IPVA (Motor Vehicle Property Tax) for ride-hailing drivers, taxi drivers, school transport providers, and street vendors.

Additionally, Perillo plans to reduce the age threshold for automatic IPVA exemption for older vehicles and motorcycles from 15 years to 10 years. He stated these measures are designed to alleviate the financial burden on workers while promoting the decarbonization of the state's vehicle fleet.

In a separate political development, the PRTB party has denied rumors of a split from Perillo's campaign. The party reaffirmed its formal support for the former governor's candidacy, maintaining the existing political coalition which also includes Cidadania and Democracia Cristã (DC).
