Marcos Maidana inducted into Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame
Argentine former boxer Marcos ‘Chino’ Maidana has been inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame. The recognition took place during the 14th Annual Gala held at The Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Maidana, originally from Margarita, Santa Fe, competed professionally from 2004 to 2014, finishing his career with 35 victories and 5 defeats. His career highlights include winning the WBA welterweight world title in December 2013 after defeating Adrien Broner. He is also widely recognized for his two high-profile bouts against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2014, which together generated over 1.8 million pay-per-view purchases.
Maidana was part of the 2026 class, which also included Gennady Golovkin, Raúl Márquez, Gerry Cooney, and Richard Slone. His promotional company described the induction as ‘a historic day for Argentine boxing’.
