Marcos Mion sues former MTV colleague Bento Ribeiro over alleged defamation

Brazilian TV presenter Marcos Mion, known for hosting Globo’s "Caldeirão", filed a criminal complaint in São Paulo court accusing former MTV colleague Bento Ribeiro of defamation and harassment. Mion alleges Ribeiro spread false statements about their past collaboration, beginning in May 2025, and repeatedly posted them on his YouTube channel.

Ribeiro responded in a video, denying the accusations and saying his comments reflected personal feelings, not fabricated claims. He said he has no lawyer and may launch a crowdfunding campaign to cover legal costs. The case remains pending with no resolution reported.

The dispute highlights tensions within Brazil’s entertainment industry, with Mion’s reputation reportedly affected by the online controversy and his recent replacement by Anitta in a major retailer campaign.
