Marcos Morau to direct new David Bowie dance production

A new international dance production titled ‘SUBJECT TO CHANGE - A Dance for David Bowie’ has been announced, featuring the music and original vocals of David Bowie. Directed and choreographed by Marcos Morau, the work explores the themes of transformation and rebirth that defined Bowie’s career and various personas, such as Ziggy Stardust and the Thin White Duke.

The project is an international co-production involving Bunkamura, London’s Sadler’s Wells, and the Spanish dance company La Veronal. The musical score will blend Bowie’s iconic tracks and vocals with global folk music choruses and the voice of Spanish vocalist Maria Arnal.

The production is scheduled to have its world premiere at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg in spring 2028, followed by a UK premiere at Sadler’s Wells in autumn 2028. The Asian premiere is set to take place in Tokyo in spring 2029.
