Marcos Rojo considers move from Racing to Estudiantes

Footballer Marcos Rojo is reportedly considering a move from Racing Club to Estudiantes de La Plata. Following Racing's elimination from the Copa Argentina by Boca Juniors, the possibility of a transfer has increased. Rojo has reportedly given his approval for Estudiantes to proceed with negotiations, expressing a desire to potentially finish his career at the club where he began his professional journey.

Estudiantes is seeking defensive reinforcements ahead of their Copa Libertadores semifinal series against Flamengo. The club faces immediate personnel shortages in defense due to the suspensions of Leandro González Pírez and Tomás Palacios. While Rojo is a priority target, Estudiantes is also considering other options such as Carlos Izquierdoz and Matías Catalán.

A final transfer depends on an agreement between Racing and Estudiantes, as Rojo's current contract with Racing runs until December 2026. Club officials have confirmed they are actively working on a list of potential reinforcements to strengthen the squad for upcoming continental competitions.
