Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli and his wife, Neila, have announced the birth of their first child, a daughter named Daisy Isobel Bontempelli. The couple shared the news via an Instagram post featuring a video of the newborn.

Daisy was born on Friday, August 14. The announcement follows Bontempelli’s recent absence from his team’s match against Carlton, which the Bulldogs drew. While coach Luke Beveridge previously attributed Bontempelli’s absence to an Achilles issue, the player has since been listed to play in upcoming matches.
