Marcus Midtgaard to transfer from Skjern Håndbold to GOG

Handball player Marcus Midtgaard will transfer from Skjern Håndbold to GOG starting in the summer of 2027. The move marks a return to South Funen for the player, who has personal ties to the region through his previous schooling.

Skjern Håndbold sports director Thomas Klitgaard expressed regret over the loss, noting that while the club attempted to retain him, personal connections to the area were difficult to overcome. Midtgaard has become an increasingly influential figure at Skjern, providing value through his physical play, speed, and shooting ability, as well as his defensive contributions.

TV 2 Sport expert Bent Nyegaard described Midtgaard as a ‘big purchase’ for GOG, suggesting the player has the potential to reach the highest international levels. Midtgaard has already made his debut for the Danish national team.
