Marcus Rashford postpones club future decision until after World Cup

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford returned to Old Trafford after a season-long loan at FC Barcelona, where the Spanish club declined to trigger a €30 million purchase option. Rashford's contract with United runs until the summer of 2028, but he has stated he will not discuss his long‑term club future until England’s World Cup campaign is complete. He told the media that he wants to focus entirely on the tournament and will revisit transfer speculation afterwards.

Both the Daily Mirror and SPORT report that Rashford had hoped to settle his future before the World Cup, but with no agreement reached, he emphasized staying present for England, who are set to play Mexico in the Round of 16. Various clubs, including Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Newcastle United, have been linked with the England international, while Manchester United remain open to keeping him.

Barcelona’s decision also saw them sign Anthony Gordon instead, leaving Rashford’s next move uncertain beyond the post‑World Cup period.
