Marcus Rashford returns to Manchester United to mentor youth and focus on football

Marcus Rashford has returned to Manchester United following a successful loan spell at Barcelona, where he helped the club win La Liga. Upon his return, Rashford has reportedly impressed club officials with his work ethic and commitment during training sessions under manager Michael Carrick.

Beyond his individual performance, Rashford has taken on a mentoring role for younger players at the Carrington training base, including academy prospects JJ Gabriel and Shea Lacey. While he is expected to compete for a place in the squad for the upcoming Premier League season, there has been discussion regarding his squad number; he is unlikely to reclaim the number 10, which is currently held by Matheus Cunha, and may instead opt for number 14.

Following a podcast exchange where Jamie Carragher shut down Gary Neville’s attempts to discuss the forward, Rashford expressed on social media his desire to “get my head down and play football without my name being mentioned every day.”
