Manchester United Likely to Keep Marcus Rashford Ahead of Transfer Window

Barcelona declined to activate a £26 million buy‑option for Marcus Rashford after his season‑long loan, leaving the England forward under contract with Manchester United until 2028. His departure clause of €47 million has now expired, meaning any club must negotiate a transfer fee.

Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano said United’s internal feeling is that Rashford has “more than a 50 %” chance of staying, describing his chances as “increasing”. He added that no concrete offers have emerged and Rashford has shown no interest in moves to the Saudi or Turkish leagues.

Rashford returned 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances for Barcelona, a record of 28 goal involvements, and is set to re‑join United’s pre‑season training camp in Ireland next week. Turkish side Fenerbahçe have publicly expressed interest and are prepared to make a financial push, but United have not received a formal approach.

Manager Michael Carrick is expected to reintegrate Rashford into the squad for the upcoming pre‑season fixtures, including a friendly against AC Milan on 15 August.
