Marcus Schenkenberg recalls flirting with Crown Princess Victoria
Swedish model Marcus Schenkenberg has revealed that he and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden had a brief flirtation while living in New York during the 1990s.
In an interview with the newspaper Aftonbladet, Schenkenberg recalled meeting Victoria while she was studying political science and history at Yale University and interning with the Swedish UN delegation. He described a moment in a club where they danced together to a slow song, noting, “We met there, and you could say we flirted a little bit,” but emphasized that the connection did not go beyond that.
At the time, Victoria was unmarried and had not yet met her current husband, Prince Daniel. Schenkenberg, who was a prominent male model in the late 1990s, stated that he has no interest in a royal lifestyle, remarking that being a prince sounds “quite boring.”
