Mardin man arrested after wife's fatal fall from fifth floor

Levent Naz has been arrested following the death of his 27-year-old wife, Bedriye Naz, who fell from the fifth floor of an apartment in the Midyat district of Mardin on August 11. While Levent Naz claimed in his prosecutor statement that his wife committed suicide after an argument regarding her mobile phone messages, witness testimonies have contradicted his version of events.

A neighbor reported hearing Bedriye Naz screaming, “Save me, Levent will kill me,” shortly before the fall. Additionally, witnesses including a neighbor and a driver who transported the suspect reported that Levent Naz made admissions of guilt, such as stating, “I threw her down, I killed her.”

The victim, a mother of four, was laid to rest in the Acırlı neighborhood. The victim's sister, Filiz Dilekçi, has called for justice, alleging that her sister was murdered rather than falling accidentally.
