Mardin tourism rises amid increased regional security

Mardin is experiencing a surge in autumn tourism, driven by an increased sense of security and peace in the region. According to Seçkin Acar, President of the Mardin Hoteliers and Tourism Association, the city is seeing a rise in both domestic and international bookings as travelers transition from summer seaside holidays to cultural destinations.

To support this growth, local tourism officials are collaborating with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency to host workshops and B2B meetings with international agencies. Industry leaders have noted the need for improved infrastructure, specifically calling for increased flight frequencies and revised ticket pricing to better accommodate the growing demand for the historic city.
