Mardin Tribal Consultation Council holds inaugural workshop

The Mardin Tribal Consultation Council held its first workshop in the Kızıltepe district of Mardin. The event brought together tribal members, community leaders, religious scholars, and representatives from non-governmental organizations to discuss regional social, moral, and family-related issues.

Council member Fasih Memiş stated that the workshop follows a three-month preparation period involving visits to various districts and villages to gather local suggestions. Memiş emphasized that current societal challenges transcend the boundaries of individual families or single tribes, requiring a collective will and a concrete roadmap for action. He noted that while political views and leadership may change, the shared identity of the people of Mardin remains constant. The goal of the assembly is to transform consultations into actionable steps to ensure a safer and more cohesive society for future generations.
