Mardin youths participate in Ordu culture and agriculture program

The ‘Mardin–Ordu Culture Bridge Summer Experience Program’ has brought approximately 25 young people from Mardin to Ordu to participate in a 25-day cultural and vocational exchange. The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, the Ordu Governorship, the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, and İŞKUR.

Participants receive practical training in hazelnut farming three days a week at Ordu Metropolitan Municipality orchards. The curriculum includes hazelnut harvesting, basic agricultural practices, and vertical netting techniques. On other days, the program focuses on cultural immersion, with visits to Ordu’s historical and touristic sites.

To support the participants, İŞKUR provides a daily allowance of 1,375 TL. Additionally, İŞKUR covers insurance for occupational accidents, professional diseases, and general health. The program aims to foster long-term cultural ties between the two cities while providing youth with essential work experience.
