Mare Llengua Festival celebrates Catalan and Algherese music

The second edition of the Mare Llengua Festival is taking place in Alghero, featuring four days of events from October 8 to 11. The festival includes performances at the Teatro Civico and the Quarter ALGHERO.

Valencian singer-songwriter Joan Aznar won the festival with the Catalan song ‘Cant del nàufrag’. Yasmin Bradi received the Pino Piras Prize for the best Algherese song with ‘Aigua Mare’.

A major evening event on October 10 will honor Lluis Llach, featuring a parade of national and international artists performing his classics to bridge the gap between traditional Nova Cançó and contemporary music. The evening will also pay tribute to Italian singer and composer Rachele Colombo.
