Marelli and Microchip develop open display connectivity for vehicles
Marelli and Microchip Technology have announced a new display connectivity solution designed for software-defined vehicles (SDVs). Utilizing the ASA Motion Link (ASA-ML) open standard, the solution enables graphics and video content generated by a vehicle’s central computer to be streamed directly to automotive displays.
As vehicle architectures shift toward centralized computing, manufacturers are seeking ways to manage increasing performance demands while reducing complexity and costs. The ASA Motion Link standard, defined by the Automotive SerDes Alliance (ASA), provides a scalable, secure, and high-speed alternative to proprietary video transmission technologies. By supporting interoperability between products from different technology providers, the solution aims to increase sourcing flexibility and simplify display architectures for vehicle makers.
