Marg Helgenberger joins Boston Blue season 2

Marg Helgenberger, known for her long-running role in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, has joined the cast of the Blue Bloods spin-off, Boston Blue, for its second season. Helgenberger will portray Gwen Silver, the estranged and unpredictable biological mother of Sarah Silver, played by Maggie Lawson.

According to CBS, Gwen Silver is a complex character who returns to Boston with a personal and emotional agenda that will complicate the Silver family dynamics. The character is described as being as volatile as the climate of her Cape Cod home. The second season of the series is scheduled to premiere on October 9.
