Marga González Shows Cudillero Oil Paintings as Maricruz Leiva Begins New Burn‑Pain Treatment

Marga González, a 64‑year‑old hotelier from the coastal town of Cudillero in Asturias, Spain, is exhibiting a series of oil paintings at the Casa de las Tres Culturas in Oviedo. Her work, inspired by the maritime landscape of her hometown, includes depictions of boats, lighthouses and local streets. González credits workshops in Oviedo and mentorship from Luis Repiso for developing her distinctive style.

Venezuelan journalist Maricruz Leiva, who has lived with severe chronic burn pain for years, will start a seven‑month experimental treatment at the Pain Clinic of Hospital San Juan de Dios. After doctors ruled out a nerve block due to extensive skin damage, the new regimen involves a personalized magistral medication, including a drug normally used for childhood epilepsy, aimed at reducing the constant burning sensation she experiences.
