Margarete Kriz‑Zwittkovits appointed president of Vienna Chamber of Commerce

Walter Ruck announced his resignation as president of the Wirtschaftskammer Wien (Vienna Chamber of Commerce) and as chairman of the ÖVP‑linked Wirtschaftsbund Wien, stating he will withdraw to private life. Margarete Kriz‑Zwittkovits, the former vice‑president, succeeded him in both roles.

Kriz‑Zwittkovits said she will restore trust, continue the chamber’s reform agenda and work on the recently concluded future agreement with the SPÖ‑led Vienna city government. The leadership change follows weeks of controversy over alleged remarks by Ruck and internal tensions within the organization.
