Eduardo Teixeira appointed Chega national municipal coordinator

Eduardo Teixeira, a deputy for the Chega party and local councilor in Viana do Castelo, has been appointed as the general coordinator of the party’s National Municipal Commission. The appointment was made by party leader André Ventura with unanimous support from the National Directorate.

Teixeira aims to consolidate the party’s local power and prepare for future elections, noting that Chega currently has approximately two thousand municipal representatives nationwide. The commission includes several other members, such as Albufeira Mayor Rui Cristina and parliamentary leader Pedro Pinto.

In addition to this domestic role, Teixeira has been elected President of the Culture, Civilizations, and Quality of Life Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA-UfM) for the 2026-2030 term. The election took place in Cairo, Egypt.
