Margarita Maza National Baccalaureate expands across Mexico
The Margarita Maza National Baccalaureate program has launched in several Mexican states as part of a federal strategy to expand upper secondary education coverage.
In Hidalgo, the program has activated eight campuses with an investment exceeding 189 million pesos for infrastructure and equipment. These facilities will serve municipalities including Pachuca, Mineral de la Reforma, Tula de Allende, Atotonilco de Tula, Apan, and Tezontepec de Aldama. The model is designed to offer flexible options for students who need to balance studies with work or family responsibilities.
In Quintana Roo, the Technological University (UT) of Cancún has become the first public higher education institution in the state to join the strategy. The program utilizes a mixed modality, combining virtual weekday instruction with in-person sessions on Saturdays. The curriculum is organized into four-month periods, allowing students to complete their studies within two years.
