Margarita Ponce wins 100 million pesos in ‘Es mi sueño’ finale

Margarita Ponce, an 11-year-old singer from Salta, has been crowned the winner of the first season of the singing competition ‘Es mi sueño’ on El Trece. During the grand finale held at the Teatro Ópera in Buenos Aires, Ponce secured 32.09% of the public vote to win the grand prize of 100 million pesos.

Ponce performed ‘La Arenosa’ by Mercedes Sosa for her final act, earning an ovation from the audience. The jury, which included Abel Pintos, La Mona Jiménez, Natalie Pérez, Jimena Barón, and Joaquín Levinton, did not decide the winner but instead selected three participants—Ailén Peralta, Diego Detona, and Tomás Cochello—to join the second season.

The young winner expressed her intention to use the prize money to purchase a house in Salta. The second season of the program, which will feature celebrities, is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, August 19.
