Margherita Sarfatti’s ‘Dux’ biography reissued for centenary

Mondadori has released a new edition of ‘Dux’, a biography of Benito Mussolini written by Margherita Sarfatti. Originally published in 1926, the book marks its centenary.

Sarfatti, an influential intellectual, essayist, and art critic, documented her complex relationship with Mussolini, which encompassed politics, aesthetics, and personal connection. The text is noted for providing a firsthand account of the construction of the Fascist myth and the political atmosphere in Italy during the era of the March on Rome and the subsequent fascistization of the country.
