Margita Balaštíková accused of conspiring to sabotage former husband's company

Former ANO movement MP Margita Balaštíková has been charged by police in connection with an alleged conspiracy to damage the business of her ex-husband, Josef Balaštík. Investigators claim Balaštíková conspired with officials from the Zlín regional hygiene station, including former director Eva Sedláčková and department head Vladimír Možíšek, to orchestrate targeted inspections of the company ChemProgres.

According to police documents, Možíšek allegedly acted on Balaštíková's influence to conduct inspections based on anonymous reports regarding chemical contamination and facility damage, though subsequent investigations by other authorities found no grounds for these claims. Recordings reportedly captured Balaštíková stating her intention to sink the company during her divorce proceedings.

Balaštíková has declined to comment on the ongoing legal proceedings, citing legal restrictions, though she has previously dismissed such recordings as forgeries. The scandal previously led to her removal from the ANO party candidate list and her subsequent loss in a Senate election.
