Maria Bartiromo exits Fox News Media after 12-year tenure

Maria Bartiromo has departed Fox News Media after more than 12 years. While Fox News issued a statement thanking her for her work and wishing her well, her attorney, Bryan Freedman, has disputed reports that she was fired, calling such claims “absolutely and unequivocally false” and stating they have evidence to support her position.

Reports suggest the departure may be linked to an incident in July involving internal guidance regarding coverage of a speech by Donald Trump. According to sources, Bartiromo allegedly shared a screenshot of internal communications—which instructed staff to avoid promoting the speech or discussing 2020 election topics—with White House officials. This move reportedly led to a complaint from the White House to Fox leadership, potentially violating her employment agreement regarding confidential information.

In response to her exit, Fox Business is rebranding her former programs. “Mornings with Maria” will become “Mornings with Fox Business,” and “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street” will be renamed “FBN’s Wall Street.” Both shows will utilize rotating guest anchors for the time being. On Fox News Channel, Jason Chaffetz will temporarily host “Sunday Morning Futures” until a permanent replacement is named.
