Maria Bartiromo departs Fox News Media after 12 years

Fox News Media has announced the immediate departure of longtime anchor Maria Bartiromo after more than 12 years with the network. While the company described the move as a business decision and did not specify official reasons, reports suggest the exit is linked to Bartiromo allegedly sharing internal editorial guidance with the White House.

The disputed guidance reportedly instructed staff to avoid amplifying certain claims made by President Donald Trump regarding the 2020 election and China. Sources allege Bartiromo shared a screenshot of this memo with White House officials, which the network viewed as a violation of employment terms.

Bartiromo’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, has denied that she was fired, stating that the reports are “absolutely and unequivocally false” and claiming to have witnesses and proof to support her position.

In response to her departure, Fox Business is rebranding her programs. “Mornings with Maria” will become “Mornings with Fox Business,” and “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street” will be renamed “FBN’s Wall Street,” both featuring rotating anchors. Jason Chaffetz will host “Sunday Morning Futures” for the time being.
