Maria Boti represents Greek agriculture at FAO World Food Forum
Greek entrepreneur and farmer Maria Boti attended the World Food Forum 2026 in Rome at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. This marks her third consecutive year participating in the forum.
The event coincided with the celebration of the International Day of Rural Women and the United Nations' designation of 2026 as the International Year of Rural Women. During the forum, Boti met with FAO Director-General Dr. Qu Dongyu to represent Greek agricultural efforts, innovation, and food products on a global stage.
Boti emphasized that the recognition of rural women should move beyond symbolic gestures toward practical support. She highlighted the evolution of the female farmer from traditional historical roles to modern, educated, and active participants in the agricultural sector and rural development.
