Maria Callas art exhibition to open in Athens

The contemporary art exhibition ‘Visions of Maria’, organized by La Divina Group, will be held at the Parnassos Literary Society building from September 17 to 21. The event is dedicated to the life, personality, and artistic journey of opera singer Maria Callas.

Curated by archaeologist and art historian Iris Kritou, with co-curation by Anita Patsouraki, the exhibition features works from over 100 international artists. The collection utilizes diverse media, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, textile art, mosaic, jewelry, ceramics, and digital media.

Rather than focusing on biographical or descriptive representations, the project seeks to create a modern artistic dialogue through conceptual, emotional, and largely abstract readings of Callas. The works aim to explore her memory, inspiration, and the symbolic nature of her persona, bridging the gap between opera and contemporary visual arts.
