Maria Callas exhibitions announced in Greece
Multiple art exhibitions dedicated to the life and legacy of opera icon Maria Callas are being presented in Greece.
The Benaki Museum is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Maria La Callas,’ which focuses on the cinematic costumes used in Pablo Larraín’s film ‘Maria.’ Designed by Italian costume designer Massimo Cantini Parrini, the collection includes stage garments from operas such as ‘La Traviata,’ ‘Medea,’ and ‘Tosca.’ The exhibition explores the duality between the private individual, Maria, and the public persona, La Callas.
Additionally, the La Divina Group is organizing ‘Visions of Maria,’ a contemporary art exhibition at the Parnassos Literary Society in Athens. Scheduled for September 2026, the project features works from over 100 artists. Curated by Iris Kritou and Anita Patsouraki, the exhibition aims to create a modern artistic dialogue regarding Callas’s memory, focusing on conceptual and emotional interpretations rather than traditional biographical representations.
