Brazil wins two gold medals at Taekwondo Grand Prix in Paris

Brazilian athletes secured two gold medals at the third stage of the 2026 Taekwondo Grand Prix Series in Paris.

Maria Clara Pacheco, the world number one in the 57 kg category, won the gold medal by defeating Jordan's Fadia Khirfan with a score of 2 rounds to 0. This victory completes a perfect season for Pacheco, who also won the Grand Prix stages in Rome and Muju. Her performance follows a successful recovery from hip surgery earlier this year.

Henrique Marques claimed gold in the 80 kg category after a comeback victory against Uzbekistan's Jasurbek Jaysunov. After trailing 9-2 in the first round, Marques secured a 10-9 win in the final seconds of the round before dominating the second round to win 2-0. The win earns Marques 60 points, positioning him to potentially reclaim the world ranking lead in the next update.
