Maria Diakopanakitou opens up about three years of unhappiness and therapy in new Gala interview

Greek actress Maria Diakopanakitou spoke to Gala magazine journalist Marilou Pantazi about her personal and professional journey. She said she spent three years feeling unhappy and angry in every job, which also affected her home life.

The turning point came when she joined the stage production “The Chairs” with director Panos Papadopoulos. She decided to act on her own terms, acknowledging the cost but noting that she now feels “fantastic.” Diakopanakitou also highlighted the role of psychotherapy in helping her understand herself and face challenges differently, stating, “You have to have the calm to look inside yourself, admit some things, see what is yours and what isn’t, and dare to take a new path.”
