Maria Furtwängler celebrates 59th birthday
German actress Maria Furtwängler is celebrating her 59th birthday. Born into a prominent Munich family of artists, she began her career in front of the camera at the age of six in a film directed by her uncle.
While she pursued a medical degree and earned a doctorate in human medicine, she eventually transitioned to full-time acting in 2001. She is most widely recognized for her role as Inspector Charlotte Lindholm in the long-running crime series ‘Tatort’, a role she has held since 2002. Her character has been associated with Hannover and Göttingen, with recent developments indicating a return to the LKA Hannover.
Furtwängler's family connections to the industry include her mother, actress Kathrin Ackermann, and her father, Siegfried Rauch, with whom she appeared in the series ‘Die glückliche Familie’ between 1987 and 1991.
