Maria Karystianou criticizes Tempi tragedy judicial process

Maria Karystianou, president of the ‘Elpida gia ti Dimokratia’ movement, has expressed deep distrust in the judicial and institutional handling of the Tempi train tragedy. During a television appearance, she questioned the reliability of the justice system, police, and fire services, noting that no one protected the site following the accident.

Karystianou criticized the conduct of officials at the scene, specifically alleging that former Deputy Minister Christos Triantopoulos gave instructions regarding the cleaning of the area and the handling of human remains. She further argued that the current judicial process fails to fully assign responsibility, as it does not include all relevant parties, such as former transport ministers, general and special secretaries, or certain connected companies.
