Maria Valquíria Norat Coelho assumes presidency of TRT-8

Judge Maria Valquíria Norat Coelho has officially assumed the presidency of the Regional Labor Court of the 8th Region (TRT-8), which oversees the states of Pará and Amapá. The inauguration ceremony took place in Belém on Tuesday, August 18.

Coelho, who previously served as the court's vice-president, takes over the leadership following the compulsory retirement of Judge Sulamir Palmeira Monassa de Almeida. She is scheduled to remain in the position until November 3, 2026. Following internal regulations, Judge Rosita de Nazaré Sidrim Nassar has assumed the role of vice-president.

The ceremony was attended by judges, court staff, and representatives from the Court of Justice of Pará, the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), and the Labor Public Prosecutor's Office (MPT). Officials highlighted the importance of institutional cooperation and the increasing presence of women in judicial leadership roles.
