Maria Victoria proposes new pediatric hospitals in Paraná interior

State Deputy Maria Victoria (PP) is advocating for the expansion of specialized pediatric hospitals and healthcare structures throughout the interior of Paraná. The initiative aims to strengthen the regionalization of child healthcare to reduce the need for families to travel long distances to major urban centers for specialized treatment.

Victoria intends to use the models established by reference institutions, such as the Hospital Pequeno Príncipe in Curitiba and the Hospital da Criança de Maringá, to develop new regionalized pediatric care models in partnership with the state government and municipalities. She previously spearheaded the creation of the Hospital da Criança de Maringá, which provides specialized services including pediatric ICUs, oncology, and a center for genetics and rare diseases.

The future plan involves using technical criteria to identify specific regions where new pediatric structures should be implemented or where existing hospitals can be strengthened to improve specialized care accessibility.
