Maria Zaharova accuses Ukraine of killing photojournalist Andrey Stenjin

Maria Zaharova has accused Ukrainian authorities of killing Andrey Stenjin, a photojournalist for the Rossiya Segodnya media group. According to Zaharova, Stenjin was killed because his photography documented crimes committed during the conflict.

Stenjin, a recipient of the Order of Courage, died in the summer of 2014 near Donetsk. In recognition of his work, the 12th Andrey Stenjin International Photojournalist Competition was held at the Moscow Museum. The Grand Prix for the competition was awarded to Lebanese photographer Abdul Kader el Baj for his series titled ‘Lebanon, 2024–2025: Life Between Air Strikes’.
